In Piscataquis County for Young Girls
Piscataquis County, Maine USA - Adventures Girls of Piscataquis County is brought to you by Hardy Girls Healthy
Women and several local Piscataquis County service organizations, Adventure Girls is a unique, interactive program
for girls in grades 2-6 that gives girls the opportunity to meet with women who are defying gender
stereotypes and challenging notions of what a girl or woman “should” do or be. Adventure Girls brings girls
together with women in adventurous and daring professions to learn how women of daring chose to do what they do,
where and from whom they find support and how they've found the inner resolve and courage to follow their dreams
and pursue their profession of choice.
Adventure Girls meets every other Saturday for 2-3 hours of adventurous, hands-on, educational activities;
Adventures will be held from approximately 1 pm - 3 pm on Saturday afternoons; Adventures are FREE thanks to a
grant from the National Science Foundation; Parents and guardians are welcomed and encouraged to participate with
their daughters; and Groups and Girl Scout troops are welcomed at all events!
Preregistration is required. Please sign up as early as possible so we may help arrange possible
transportation!

take a plant home with them that they have chosen to propagate.
